Help me! Reverse is messed up!
Okay heres the deal, I have an Audi A4 2001 1.8QT 5v. (195 600KM's)
I was driving and it was okay, I put it in reverse, it worked.
But after, I drove a bit and tried to reverse and when I did, i pushed the gas, the car started to go then all of a sudden kicked and went into nutural, it still said reverse on the dash but the gas did nothing but put the revs up.
It goes into drive, nutural and park okay, but reverse keeps messing up.
Whats the problem? How much will it cost to repair? Help me!
(Update) - I'm pretty sure the Tranny fluid is full also.

Re: Help me! Reverse is messed up!
Is your car an auto? I would get the fluid changed ASAP and see what comes out when you drain your fluid. If there is alot of filings there may be some damage to one of the gears. Sounds like either the transmission is not properly engaging the reverse gear or there is a stripped gear.

Sounds about right, Mind telling me how to check the tranny fluid? Is there a dip stick and Im just blind?

I don't know if audi autos have a dipstick or not. I know the newer cars are going away from the tranny dipstick now. Manuals have never had a tranny dipstick.
