Default Finicky Heated Seat

I have an issue with my seat.

The driver's side heated seat function does not always work. Every once in a while (perhaps 10% of the time) the entire seat will heat up, but mostly, just random part of the seat SORT OF heat up. This tends to be on either side of the seat, just outside my thighs.

I'm not an electrician, but I'm wondering if this could simply be a loose connection? The passenger seat works fine (of course.)

Living in Edmonton, I REALLY don't want to do another winter without fixing this. The upholstery is leather, so it feels like sitting on a block of ice.

Any suggestions?

Had a buddy of mine who had the same problem (VW Jetta) and literally burned his pants.

I would recommend consulting a local privately owned mechanic for a "consultation" it might simply be a bad connection especially since it is obviously working sometimes
The annoying thing is once it's on you'll have to remember to shut it off...or else

if you lift the seat as high as it will go you can see the plugs underneath on mine the electric bolster stopped working and that was just a loose connection.

It could be a broken wire INSIDE the seat heater... when you sit on it the right way, its enough to make the connection again and get things working.

My drivers seat does not completely work either, and at this time its too expensive to get it fixed...

I bought a used seat and took it apart to see how difficult the job would be... I stopped once I finished dismantling the old seat.
