So here's the backstory.

It's my Mom's car and she was driving it around for a while. One day something went wrong and me and my Dad took it for a spin. After about 2K RPM it would shake and make weird noises so we figured the turbo was gone. Unfortunetly she didn't have the money at the time to get it properly checked out (both my parents own their own businesses) and figured it would be fine. One day it just died as she was coming down the road from her office. We took and look and found the timing belt had shredded to peices and put everything out of alignment so we were told it would be around $2K get everything back in order.

We did some looking around and found a guy who wrecks Audis and would do a whole engine swap for way cheaper than the alignment. So we gave him the engine code (AWB I believe) and he said that he'll let us know once an engine came in. That was nine months ago and I decided that I'm just gonna do some research to see what's involved in swapping another engine if I can find one. We just wanna get it done so if I can atleast find the right engine, we can get it running and sold (She wants to get an SUV now).

I don't know much about the Audi scene as I have turned into a BMW enthusiast after we bought a 530i to temporarily replace the A4 (I bought it off my parents and it's my first car now) so I thank all of you for the help!
