Default Code P0441 - Guilty Found

I found the guilty for the code P0441 as on the picture. It was the plug with ice inside. I dipped both sides in Tequilla and the problem disappeared right away.

The other code that I had was related to low voltage, and I am thinking that this could be due to all the electrical items running when I drive the girls to school.

I have these items on:

4 heated seats 120W
Lights 70W
Radio 20W
Fan 20W
Engine 30W

Total 260 W or 22 Amps

Can the Alternator handle 22 extra amps or should I limit the electric consumption inside the vehicle, and instead just tell them that the time for shorts is over?

Geez, ya know, the Audi Engineers that got paid thousands and thousands of dollars to create a car that could handle all the accessories and then some and not over load the alternator got fired for not doing their job correctly.

I think your car is special because its the only one that has all these problems in the cold and can't use all their components without throwing codes.

I could say your alternator is probably dying, or heck, maybe i tell you to go with how many members told you that the cold can affect your battery.. but you don't seem to listen.. You repeat your self over and over again when members actually don't seem to see the game your trying to play.

Why not make up a new thread now to prove your electric issue. It seems its all you do is make up threads to try and prove yourself right.. Why would anyone who just claimed 2 days ago he had deicer would dip his electrical components in tequilla.. Especially when tequilla has water in it and you whine about the humidity in the air.. Seriously....Go away.

Tequilla is good for the plugs because it contains gel that prevents moisture from coming inside the plug and lubricates it.

As for my electrical problems they always appear at the first cold snap and than go away.

My alternator is I think 120 amps but this is at 6000 RPMs so during normal driving I get let 's say 50 Amps out of which 50% is used to charge the battery. So I think I am at the border line right now.

PS I would rather like to see something of value in your reply, other than calling me names.
You may always choose to ignore.

Adam I really don't know where you get these ideas from and how your calculations work. First of all it isn't 22 Amps its more along the lines of ~18A. When was the last time you measured the voltage across your source? Book states 12V in theory, but actual voltage is up to 15V. I took 14.5V to do the Calc. Anyways the alternator is fine, its power does not cut out by de-rating it by 58.3% that is not how it works. Do you know the ratio of the alternator output? do you know the consumption of the battery at FLA? No so you just cant make assumptions such as those.

Anyways I have to ask you to think twice before posting. you are sending the wrong message to a lot of our readers and it seems like you are paranoid on a lot of the topics about your vehicle, and are making assumptions that mathematically do not make any sense.

Please read twice before you post anything so the questions are clear, and that we can answer them correctly and help you out. I dont mean to flame you but a lot of the topics are kinda going over the edge.

A plug would not be put in and work if it overloads the alternator, your fuse would blow first, its a redundancy system that saves the alternator, usually how most good electrical designs work. So plug it in till you blow a fuse, this will tell you that something went over its OL (over-load) protection point or it Short Circuited.

Please try and use some common sense.

and for christs sake, quit dumping alcohol all over your cars components... but a can of electrical contact cleaner and do the job properly.

maybe just go to Shell and buy a new Audi on your Shell card? That'll solve everything.

Best of luck!

Oh, and those girls that asked to add you as a 'friend'? They're not real. Didn't you notice that they're all 'nursing students' and want you to pay them $40/minute to chat on MSN?

p.s. this is a fun read. Seems you have fans EVERYWHERE! I like the part where they talk about you defrauding them out of their money. Oops.
