Change/fill steering wheel fluid?

Re: Change/fill steering wheel fluid?
First you should make sure you get the right fluid. Then top off the container which has a dipstick in it. If you don't use the right fluid you will eventually have major problems like steering box replacement etc.

Re: Change/fill steering wheel fluid?
Not to hijack this thread, but I thought this could be related.
The last little while my steering wheel has been making noise when turning the wheel at almost stopped, or very, very low speeds. (when backing out of a parking spot for example)
The noise seems to sound like somthing rubbing inside the steering column or underneath.
I will go check my power steering fluid immediately after work today, but does anyone have any other insight? Could it be related to wersuss' problem?

Re: Change/fill steering wheel fluid?
There is not a car in the world that will not complain when pulled hard to lock.
It's the pump letting you know it's not capable of applying pressure past stop and it is trying to lock up.
As for power steering fluid service, don't worry, Audi & Co has all the needed parts.
Read your Service Manual.
If the manual does not recommend changing your fluids,
just remember the Audi agenda, their parts department will love you.

Re: Change/fill steering wheel fluid?
Use mineral base CHF 11s which can be purchased at NAPA
When my steering started to make noises (search related thread posted by me) it was the start of a failed steering box. I am not saying that is your issue but it was mine.
