Default Can I count on Audi for the long term

Hey Folks, I have owned my first Audi (used 06 A4 1.8T) for less than six months and it has cost me about $3k. My last car I owned for eight years and had 218,000 miles on it and I probably did not spend $3k the entire time I drove it. Can I expect to get 200,000 plus miles from an Audi or will the repair bills be that expensive year after year?
I realize regular maintanence is going to cost more for this type of car, which I don't mind, but there is a difference between regular maintaince and major repair. I would have expected a well engineered car, which is what european car manufactures claim, would have engine's and drive train's, that would last well past 200,000 miles.

your high cost repairs would be the timing belt, cam seal, control arms, and wheel bearings. Once you get through all those, just your typical oil change will get you through. There might be other repairs that come along, but they are things that you could probably do yourself. These engines are quite tough.

Thanks for the the reponse. Had the Transmission Control Module replaced along with head gasket seal then regular PM of plugs, Transmission fluid flush / change, and oil change. I assume Cam seal is different than head gasket. Guess I will wait for control arm and wheel bearings to go bad. What about the CVT? I see a lot of threads showing this as a problem. Any insight
