Blinkers work intermittently

Blinkers work intermittently
No, seriously.
They seem to work for 2 or 3 clicks, then stop. The 4-ways work fine. I'm thinking it's the blinker itself that is going. From what I can tell, it resides directly behind the 4-way triangular switch in the centre of the dash. Anyone have any ideas how to get at it? Anyone ever have this problem?

Re: Blinkers work intermittently
Yes it is a common problem. You need a new 8D0 941 509 H (01C) switch.
Remove carefully the trim panel around the switches and the switch comes out from the front, most mechanics find it easier to remove the radio and push on the switch from behind. Just make sure you have the radio security pin before you remove/disconnect it.
