Default Audi dash display problem

Audi display is a problem because there is too much red in it and it looks like devil or something similar.
How do I change the colour to Green?

It is possible and has been done.

what you will be replacing is smd Led's. It will take time and patience to unsolder the red LED's and replace with Green... and you must be careful.. But you can!

This also goes for the whole red lighted interior.. Heres a guy who went blue.

some upgrades you can also do to wean away from the all red is getsome white faced gauges.

Not sure if you can get Reversed Glow gauges for this car but something to keep an eye out for seeing there are white faced gauges.

A cheap upgrade to just give it a different look is chrome ring around gauges..

I know my last 2 suggestions do not go with the whole getting rid of the red illumination, but it does give a whole new concept and look to the dash area..

Lastly.. Have you heard of Plasma gauges?

Heres the one for the A4.

ANother Type of Plasma Glow.. Which resembles reverse glow gauges a lot.. so maybe they changed the name..

I strongly recommend going plasma gauges as they are friggin sweet!

I think the red is one of the best characteristic about the Audi interior. And red is the colour that allows for best dark visibility with minimal eye strain.

there were 2 different oem dash clusters available, one of them is all red, the other is mostly white, with red accents (that is what i have), and all other things (like the radio etc) are red... i find that this is not too much red at all.
i am not a big fan of the all blue one above, reminds me too much of my old passat lol!

If the red is so harsh maybe you can dim it down by lighting your interior with some red lamps, really sets the ambiance.

Thanks for the pictures I set them as wallpaper on blackberry. It is correct that my eyes are not tired of it even on 18 hour trips to USA. My wife was scared about the red and would ask me to turn it down until she got her A6. Now she is ok with it but I really like plasma. Where to buy it?
