Anyone have a UNITRONIC chip installed ?
Hey just wondering if anyone has a Unitronic chip installed in the B5 A4 1.8T. I am seeking to upgrade and want to know what gains and prices are inflicted?

i think i have one installed..lol..not too sure..i think yu gain about 50 more hp, i got mine from a privte deal..it was nice until i heard a big loud pop sound...im still recovering from that.. i expect my car back soon

well i brought it into a grage the first estimate was at..less than 1k, then they said they had to take it to a specialist(mre advanced) nyways whathappened is that they fixed itwithout leting anyoneknow and just billed them and extra 2k more... they said they needed to fix my timingbelt cuz it was four notches off, then they fixed my throttle body(a brand new one) then they rplaced my maf sensor.. but then they returned it..the garage i next to my work..and they (f-in ******** put he car rigt where i can stare at it...from my window..soyeah i dont expect to ave my car back until dec...ill fill u in then

hmm anywys about the power gain..its much smoother..and faster you will like it..ask mirzah..he was there when i first installed it, after that day..it was downhill lol..possibley not cuz of the chip..possibly....

hmm, could be a leak. Most shops do free diagnostics so you can bring it in and ask if there is something wrong.

Did they quote you first? The law in canada is that there is only so much more you can charge past the quote given. I forgot the precentage, but it was about 10 - 20. So there fore if they gave you qoute for 1000, they cant charge you more then 1200 lets say. thats purely illegal. Look it up in your location, you might be able to get out of it, considering how they did not even warn you before making their own decisions!
