Default Advice purchasing damaged 1998 A4 1.8t

Here is the situation.
My friends dad owns this car, his other son was in an accident with it.
Im not sure how extensive the damage is yet, dont know how the frame has held up. I am going to post some pictures and I'd appreciate it if you more experienced Audi guys would be able to tell me what kind of money this car is worth and also what are some key things to look for should I decide to buy this car after it is back from the body shop?

Details:
1.8t AWD
5 speed
150,000 km? ish

the rest you can tell from these pictures:

Hey man there was a guy a month ago asking about this same car, and he decided not to buy it! Search around there is the exact same car and thread on here that got quite a few responses. Once Hit= Never the Same

I am in Calgary too, with a Calgary Audi Club Pm me for more details

In my opinion it is never worth the money to buy a damaged car, they can cost a lot to fix once you start adding up all of the little parts and the car will always have a decleration on it and will sell for less. I would look at the prices of the used cars of this year and see if it is really worth it. Also, unitized cars take that one hit really well and after this they crush much easier.

For peace of mind it may not be worth it. Problems down the road that arise you'll always be asking yourself whether it would have happened had the car not been hit.

I know someone that has been down this road (not with an Audi) and it can get tedious quickly.

Yeah, I've been kind of feeling the same way.
Thanks for the input guys, I'll keep on looking elsewhere and If I happen to find another Audi A4 I'll post it up.
