First off, you are posting in the wrong section, please use the proper sections for your posts. I will move the post this time around.

Second, throwing money at something does not make it preform any better. With that said, why do you need a $500 intake? The stock airbox is very good and does not require to be changed at all unless you are pushing 350+ HP. Why an R1 DV? and a stage 2? What do you have to go stage 2? Or are you just going stage 2 just because?

Required Hardware for APR Stage 2 is a 3" Downpipe. Go with an Exhaust and an intercooler prior to upgrading the Intake.

The only difference between APR's stage 1 and stage 2 software for the B5 is the secondary O2 sensor is written out due to the test pipe installation in the stage 2 hardware requirements. I don't live in the same city as the installer so I installed a spacer to stop the CEL form coming on. First things I did for my 2001 were.

Maintenance. i.e. timing belt/water pump at 100,000km intervals, regular oil changes every 5000km
Podi Boost Gauge in center vent
High flow air filter and removal of the pre air filter. It's the metal mesh screen in the air box held in by 2 screws along with the lower flapper. 100% reversible.
APR R1 Diverter Valve used for $50
APR fully loaded chip $499 from their summer sale
ATP Test Pipe from ECS tuning on sale for $127
eBay Short Shifter kit $39

Next up will be a XS Power cat back off eBay once the stocker goes and/or Frankenturbo with Motoza software once the turbo goes.

Doug

APR is meh...
That intake is for show and sound. B5's dont realyl get perfomance from an intake.
Testpipe will do you good!

You really need to figure out what your goal is...
As for Flash its up to you

Unitronic
STOCK POWER: 170HP / 166LB-TQ
UNITRONIC STAGE 1: 205HP / 230LB-TQ

DESCRIPTION: Performance Software Precisely Engineered to Run 16.5psi of Boost on a Completely Stock Audi A4 B5

GAS TYPE: Optimized for 91 Octane / 95 Ron gas

APR
AWM
Stock 180hp / 173lb-ft
91 Oct 207hp / 245lb-ft
93 Oct 214hp / 247lb-ft

Right now i run a under tuned Stage 2 with i think... a shitty Neuspeed tune at 15psi on a good day.
It was pre tuned when i bought it.

Now if i had the Unitronic tune that i want id be pushing
UNITRONIC STAGE 2 : 230HP / 260LB-TQ at 18psi!
