1999 audi a4 jerking at higher speeds
Hey guys. I've been having some weird issues that i can not figure out on my own so any help here would be greatly appreciated.
1st, and 2nd gear feel perfect. In third gear at 2000 to 3000 rpm i feel a light jerking that starts at 2000 and stops at 3000 rpm. It also gets weaker in 4th and 5th but still notice it. I have thought of 4 different probelms and dont know which one is most likly the cause. After paying attention to the rpms i do not notice any abnormal functions when the problem persists!
Also vag com is not giving me any new codes.
I also do not want to take it to a mechanic as they will charge $100 to diagnose.
The car is a 2.8 quattro Manual.
It has 265Km with a few control arms breaking, sway bar links broken (both sides) if that helps.
1. Ignition coil?
2. Clutch?
3. Fuel filter?
4. balancing?

Sounds like you need to sell me your car so I can maintain it properly....
Is it a light jerking, or a slight momentary power loss? Could be a lazy intake changeover valve. A better description would help ( do you think its the engine, tranny, driveline, etc.)

Re: 1999 audi a4 jerking at higher speeds
Its a light jerking which also feels like power loss. Im thinking its the engine or something to do with the control arms. Im not 100% sure im just guessing. The colder the engine is the more i would feel it. When it first started happening i would feel it on the first drive of the day. After the first drive it seemed to either dissapear or feel lighter and lighter to the point where i cant even feel it anymore. I changed the spark plugs 1 year ago to Platnum 4 plugs. Ive also put an intake a year ago, seafoamed it almost every oil change and changed the oil every 4000km with Full synthetic. The car is getting around 320 - 360 km per tank (city driven) rarely taken on the highway.
What can i do my self that would hopefully eleminate the problem? Ie replace coil? Plug wires? Something affordable?
again the vag com didnt give me any unusual codes.
I thank you for your reply and concern!
