Default 1999 Audi A4 1.8T - Shock Absorber Lifespan - When to replace?

I have a 1999 Audi A4 1.8T with about 180,000 kms on it. I bought it with about 130,000 kms. I've noticed that the shocks just aren't doing their job anymore and the ride is pretty "bouncy." On large bumps, it feels as if the car is almost being bounced up rather than the bump being absorbed.

I'm pretty sure the shocks are dead. How long are they supposed to last?

Any recommendations for replacements? I'd like to keep the stock ride as much as possible. What price am I looking at?

Would I need to replace the springs at the same time?

Any recommendations for a shop that could replace them properly in the Toronto GTA area?

I have a 01 TT. The front shock went at 135,000kms (last year). Replaced all four.

I guess it depends on the road conditions but between 130 and 150 sounds about right.

I needed to change them because my front spring broke. So i replaced the spring, shocks front and back.... and while i was in there, replaced the front wheel bearings.

Shocks : Koni Sport adjustable
Spings : Eibach Pro-kit lowering springs.

I wouldnt know how much it was to install, i installed them myself. I took me a good day of work.

Shocks : $375 front, $250 rear
Springs : $300 for all four corners

So $800 - $900 worth of parts. Add a good 8 hours of work + youll need an alignment after.
