Where is your heart do you like to ride relax ( 2.8 ) or torque (1.8T). My personal choice is the 1.8T the 150hp can be tuned to a 280 not just with chiptuning of course but it is possible....

The 1.8T got a power upgrade from the measly 150hp (can't remember when I think around 1999??) to 170hp and 166lb/ft torque. The 1.8T in the TT (i.e.: transverse mounted) put out a bit more power/torque due to the arrangement allowing for better intake/exhaust flow
But get the 1.8T. There's no warranty so might as well chip it with Revo, APR, GIAC, etc.
