Default ZeroStart Coolant Heater

Hello

I have read many forums in regards to installing a zerostart inline coolant heater for the cold Canadian winters.

I have not come across a DIYs for any audis, there were several for TDIs. The Link below illustrates one.

I have a 1998 Audi a4 2.8l Quattro with a manual transmission.

I would like to install the zerostart from Canadian tire on my car.

I am aware that the mounting of the unit as well as other minor details will differ from the above write up but i an mainly concerned about what lines to install this unit to

Based on the writeup above for a TDI, it shows removing the lower coolant hose from the oil cooler and mounting the unit as low as you can then running the lower coolant hose ( that you removed ) into the heater inlet then running the top ( outlet of heater) into were Fitting that the old hose connected to ( so basically its in series)

I would like to confirm that this would be a feasible option for my car. If anyone can give me any insight on this it would be wonderful also- I would like to make a write up for this if I have the correct information to complete the job. I have followed many write -ups from websites ( from brakes, LCD replacements abs fix, valve cover and tensioner gaskets, fuel filter, and the oh so common control arms etc...) and I feel it may be my turn to make one

Thanks in Advance

After looking through my manual - if it was unclear of where I would like to place the inline coolant heater hopefully this picture will help illustrate my idea - any input would be greatly appreciated

Realize this is an old post but wondering if you or anyone else has found an answer to this? I'm wanting to install the same coolant heater on my 2000 A4 1.8t. Any advice is appreciated.

since you have a 2.8 pop out the frost plug on the driver side of the block and put in a regular block heater, my 99 2.8 has just a regular block heater and it works awesome in this cold weather compared to the oil pan heater on my 1.8t
