Remote Door Lock Key Programming + Audi Dealership
My remote key stopped working, and since I do not have a spare key and my driver side door lock is broken, I decided to take the car and key to Agincourt to have it reprogrammed.
When I took it there, they informed me that without a spare key or a working door lock they cannot program the key. Is it me or does this not make any sense. Because I would assume that Audi in such cases would have a special scanner or programmer where they can program the remote without the standard method. Are these guys trying a fast one on me, or are they this clueless, or does this actually makes sense. Do keep in mind, that I have placed an order to fix the door lock, and a spare valet key, just so that I can have a key if the remote fails or the auto door lock stops working. Until I have this fixed which will take 5 - 10 days per Audi, I cannot lock my car, which means cannot park car in public places. Though I did park the car a couple of days ago at the York dale Mall with unlocked doors !!!. Only surprised to find the car where I parked :D The longest 2 hours I experienced |
Re: Remote Door Lock Key Programming + Audi Dealership
Really old thread but you should have been able to lock and unlock your car using the trunk lock (central locking).
Hope that helps someone in the future |
