Rear Differential Oil

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to check and/or change the oil in my rear differential? I have a 2000 A4 1.8T Quattro, and haven't figured out a way to check this yet. Any help would be great!

When I had awd I just let my shop do it buoy have to do that each engine oil change just so you know. So don't stall on that.

Thanks GeneKam. I think that.s probably what I'll do, as I need to get my wheels aligned anyway.

Generally I change my own oil, so at some point I need to learn how to do this so I don't have to pay for it.

Anyone else have any advice?

there is a drain plug on the bottom and to fill her the fill plug is on the pass side of the carrier.. fill till the diff oil just starts to come out of the fill hole, you'll need the squirt bottle type with extension hose. you'll need alen key socket ( don't remember what size ) for both drain and fill plugs.

Ok, sounds awesome. Is there a specific type of oil I should be buying? Sorry - I'm a noob.
