Which Radar Detector is the best for Audi A4. I use Whistler 1630 and it gives me 3 tickets per 4 years of driving. Is there a better one on the market today?

It works quite well when you listen to it.

This is what I think as well. I like the VG2 button that detects Police Radar Detector Detector, so even if they do not have their radar ON they tend to leave the RDD ON and I know that I have undercover Police behind me.

This whistler was economy priced. Do you get any extras when you buy an expensive one?

Go to a track Adam. No radar detector needed.

Most companies make detectors in the high-end range, but the Valentine is usually near, or at, the top of the pack. That said, being alert and following some general guidelines will save you from many more tickets than a detector ever could. Pay attention in the following situations:

- Zones where the speed limit drops
- Approaching/leaving municipalities
- Overpasses
- Large objects on the right side of the road (for coppers to hide behind)
- When passing an on ramp (where they sit ready to run down people that get radar'd)
- Cresting hills
- Analyze cars that you're passing from as far away as you possibly can (fleet tags, antennae, light-boxes in the windows, etc.)
- Vehicles stopped anywhere even remotely adjacent to the road
- Anywhere that you think would be a good place to radar people (I've ingrained myself with the habit of always looking for where I would hide if I were a cop)
- Be continuously alert -always scanning the road in front of, and behind you

My detector has only ever gone off once when I hadn't already dropped my speed because of one of the aforementioned situations. I have dodged literally dozens upon dozens of speeding tickets in my life.

I have never gotten a ticket other than a parking ticket. Not saying that I haven't been stopped just never got a ticket. Helps being an ex police officer!

Isn't this illegal?

I am not sure but I think it is not in Quebec, and most of the states in US.

I have never got a speeding ticket - knock on wood -, but I do consider 100-110km/h a ridiculous speed limit for Canada - very long distances to cover.
