Taking my first Audi out for a drive tomorrow....I have been a honda owner for years then on to nissans. What I'm looking to find out is....part costs, maintenance headaches (ongoing problems etc.). The Audi I will have the pleasure of driving is a 1999-2000 A4 1.8T Quattro.

Unfortunatly comming from a Honda background myself the audi is Significatly more expensive to repair.

However if you do the maintenance it should not give you any major headaches.

- Make sure you use Syntetic oil
- do you timing belt every 100 000km
- get the service history and ensurre there is no gaps in it.
- get it checked out that the dealership/Mechanic you plan on using when it needs service
- Keep in Mind that Passat 4motion parts are cheaper than A4 parts and 9 times out of 10 will work in you application.
