WHICH PERFORMANCE CHIP IS THE BEST FOR A 1998 A4 1.8T Q?

I HERE APR IS THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS PROGRAMS THAT WE CAN ADJUST BY A PUSH OF A BUTTON FROM PERFORMANCE BACK TO STOCK..... BUT I HEAR GIAC IS A VERY GOOD CHIP TOO.... AND MORE SMOOTHER BUT DOESN'T HAVE THE FEATURES OF A BUTTON.... SOMETHING LIKE A PLUG AND PLAY KINDA THING. ANYBODY USE APR CHIP AND HAD PROBLEMS OR DIDN'T LIKE THE PEFORMANCE???

APR and GIAC are very similar in output. Side-by-side, they are pretty much equal. Differences are that APR is described as "smoother power delivery" where GIAC is "more aggressive" (well for the 'X' chip anyway).

From reading up reviews - APR seems to spool up the K03 a little quicker - but drops off a little sooner than the GIAC. More or less - you have a shift in the powerband/torque curve.

I run APR and find it to be great. Smooth delivery of power as everyone describes. The program switching feature (using the cruise 'set' button) is very convinient when going to the dealer or if 93 oct. isn't available.

If sticking with your stock K03 is the plan - APR is a good way to go. If you plan on going K04 - APR doesn't support software for it. GIAC has different files for the K04 so upgrading would be cheaper if you went GIAC from the start.

Hope that helps.

What about Revo?
Does anyone have experience with it?

Revo software is programmed through the vehicles Serial Port. This allows us to reprogram you’re vehicle without lifting the bonnet, and will be downloaded into your factory ECU in just over 10 minutes

It could give us the same results as the "old" soldering a new chip method?
