LUK or Sachs Clutch ...
 

My clutch is on it's last leg and I need to find a replacment soon... are the Luk or Sachs OEM clutches any good... they claim to be OEM Product... but I never heard of them before... but I'm used to the Japanese cars.

Any help... any one know good place to buy em localy that will not cost me an arm and a leg ?

I haven't heard great things about Sachs and dunno a thing about Luks. Southbend is proven and works great ! I upgraded to the SBC OFE SS series using my stock flywheel and it works very well. Pedal pressure is a bit harder (very minor and not even noticeable to my wife who drives my car once in a blue moon). The real bonus is that the friction point is much lower (where it should be) so engagement is sooner and still very easy to modulate ("street driveable"). The HD version has the same feel as stock but has a lower torque rating (still better than stock and fine for chipped K03 as well as K04's). Talk to Andy at SBC ... SACHS is OEM - rated to 250ft/lbs.

I replaced my clutch with a SACHS clutch and all is well. Cost effective way of doing it.

Perhaps it was the requirement for higher torque ratings that caused some to say the Sachs wasn't great ... Dunno about cost but the SBC HD is approx. $380. USD.

I am also using the southbend OFE with SS PP it is a awsome clutch I had the flywheel machined as well Colins Automotive in Scarborough can do this not to many places can resurface dual friction clutches
