Default Key less entry

does anyone know were the key less entry module is located in a 1997 Audi A4 1.8T?
im trying to find out if i can use key less entry with my car.

you mean the central locking unit? that one is in the trunk on the passenger side. It's under the side carpet. the antenna is somewhere under the back seat if i remember correctly.

yeah im just looking to the unit that controls key less entry, i have power locks, but the keyless entry is not working, trying to find out why. do you know how i can tell if the car is key less entry equipped?

the battery in the remotes might be dead. Try reprogramming them. Stick a key in the ignition turn the car to the on position not started, lock the doors with another key and hold down the lock button. that will reprogram the remote. I bet the batteries are dead in the remotes just pop them open replace them and reprogram them.

either that or there is other posts about the mechanism going wrong

i got the problem solved, it was a fault code from a long time ago saying there was a central locking pump leak, cleared the code using the Ross-Tech Vag-Com cable a friend of mine had for his jetta, and now everything works great. hopefully this can maybe help someone els with a similar issue
