Hamsar DRL Kit (Canadian Tire)

Just want to say thumbs up to this DRL Kit 45040 (70-987). Installed on my imported 99.5 A4 using the OEM fog lamps. Kit gives you the option of low beams and or park lamps, fog lamps. I did not hook up the low beams or park lamps. Took me all of 30m to install (most of the time was deciding where to mount the module). Fog lamps are on with ignition and while the car is running. They stay on for about 15 sec after you pull the key.:thumb:

You do know that it can all be done through programming right?

I was aware through VAG COM certain models can be done like this, but not MY 99 and prior?
There is a mod using several relays and some soldering but I found this was easier...thanks.

I have done a few B5's and was able to do it as far as I can remember, however they were 2000 and 2001, not sure if anything changed. I know some require a different relay but you should be able to change the country code in the instrument cluster which alters the DRL's.

I tried and it didnt work. I have the 99.5 and I think that was the last MY. Anything newer was done via VAG COM.
