engine ticking

Hi guys, My 2003 Audi A4 quatro turbo 1.8 just started ticking/knocking it kinda sounds like a vaulve but it only happens around 2000 rpm's. wondering if anyone knows what it could be before i start to take the vaulve cover off.

Cam-chain tensioner maybe? Try to locate the source of the noise. If it's coming from the far Driver's side of the valve cover, it's likely the tensioner.
