Hello, I am new in the audi world. I need some advice.

I have a old audi A4 96 automatic 2.8L that I got from a friend.

Tomorrow I will get a audi A4 quadro manuel 1.8T, the engine is broked.

Can I swap the v6 engine into the other one? Also can I also swap the automatic transmission too, I prefer automatic, my concern is can I swap it easily, my A4 96 is not quatro but the other 97 is quadro, transmission will work?

On the same note, the new car will have a working turbo to sell

yea theres the same clearance space under both hoods but your dreams of selling that turbo might disapoint you the 1.8s come with one of thee smallest turbos you will ever see

 

I dont think a automatic transmission will work on the 1.8t which had a manual transmission the crankshafts are diffrent from what i remember i dont really see the point y not just drive the 96 as opposed to swapping everything to a 97.

 

Thanks, I decided to stay with my 96 so far, I will do something else with the other, I will remove the engine and convert it onto an electric car instead. That will be a fun project.
