Converting a Quattro into rear/fwd drive?

Me and my brother in Law were comparing cars as he has a jetta with the 1.8t and i have an Audi with the 1.8t. We were comparing and found his car took off and pulled way harder. We are guessing more or less im loosing a lot of power from the awd system. Just a question, could be odd but wondering if it was possible?

Can you make that car a fwd or rear wheel drive?

His car is lighter since its doesnt have all the luxury goodies and the extra axles and diffs.

Yeah i knew it was lighter, but i didn't know it would be that big of a difference. I would like to see my audi as a fwd and not the quattro and see how it does.
