Check Light Just Came On
 

I unfortunately do not have the owners manual for the car, and today a check light just came on. It looks like a typcial check engine light, however there is a lightning bolt going through it and it is lit up yellow. What does this light mean? Is it the check engine light, or is there something with the electrical system?

The alternator was replaced 25000km ago.
Was replaced with an AEB A4Q Alternator 120A, dash voltage reads around 14 (little less when HID headlights are turned on).

Timing Belt, Water Pump, and Serpentine belts were done 10000km ago.

What would be a prime suspect, or would it be best to purchase a obdII tool?

Check engine light. You would need an OBD2 reader to determine the fault codes its throwing.

Is your car running fine? Most likely just O2 sensors, or your Mass Air Flow sensor.

Thanks for your help, actually found the culprit.
A breather hose was getting pinched and finally wore out completely, surprised I didn't spot it right away. (Though that is the bottom which isn't visible, it was coming up the side to the top which is how I noticed)
