No LCD screen? or is it just dead pixels?

you can check these people out. They are located at Mississauga.

Re: changing 99 gauge cluster to a 2000....HELP PLZ

that is a 97-98 cluster...

my 99.5 doesnt have that, and i've been an audi enthusiast for a while now and i know that is not a 99.5...is your headlight 1 piece or 2 piece (signal light is separate), are your side markers small square or are they rectangle?

the 99.5 is what you posted.... the 2000-2001 clusters have the digital clock, not the analogue...which is what the 99.5 have...which is what i have.....

it wont be a plug and play. i asked the people from pixilfix, if i can change mine with a digital clock one..

you probably got a 98, and someone who previously owned it changed the headlights to a 1 piece, and the side markers to rectangle ones. Most 99.5 vehicles also have the single DIN concert radio(but i think the 99's have those too). I've changed my centre console so it looks like a 2000-2001 (OEM double din symphony radio, new lowered climate control and ash tray). You wouldnt be able to tell that it was a 99.5.

Maybe the previous owner replaced it with an older cluster. These LCD ones are known to have dead pixels. Hence, why there is a company that fixes them. So maybe all you need to do is buy a cluster with the LCD and analogue clock. The digital ones would have a different connector and communicate differently by using the CAN-bus system i believe. This means, a new wiring harness.........

Your best bet is to contact the people at Pixilfix. Maybe grab this one
Audi A4 Cluster 1998-1999 [Audi A4] - $289.00 : Welcome to Pixelfix.info, Canada

It says its for a 98-99. Most companies do not go by 99.5. They will ask what year it was made.

Re: changing 99 gauge cluster to a 2000....HELP PLZ

no it wont...you have to get that legally done somewhere. What i read in one forum is you can swap the clusters until both clusters have the exact same milage recorded. You can do that and it should be fine. Hopefully they arent too far apart lol.
