B5 question: When was it built?
Hey all,
Just wondering how you can tell (without taking the car apart) if your A4 B5 was built prior to 1/99, or after 2/99. I'm trying to order brake pads but the connectors on were different for both years and I don't know which to order. Checked the carfax but it only gives the year, nothing more...any help appreciated!

If you were ordering them through the dealer, your VIN will determine which brakes you'd need. I maybe able to help if you give me the full VIN.

if you have 2 piece headlights its a pre facelift 99.
if you have 1 piece headlight, you have a facelift 99. People label it as B5 99.5
as well, your side amber markers are more rectangular than a square.
