Default 99 B5 1.8 coolant issue

Hi folks, I'm a newer Audi owner since last September and I'm hooked, and ran into my first issue so i need your help.

noticed about a week ago or two as i was getting air for the tires that it was leaking coolant, more than what it looks like when ac causes your car to drip water, a fair abount of loss. Told my mechanic, didn't say much about it, he'd have to see the car. Then yesterday i m exiting the hwy and notice the temp is about to redline, car shuts off and I'm at the side of the hwy. Got some coolant, car started and i drove hm.

At home, car wont start. added coolant it wont start, and leaks more. upon closer inspection, its from a line in the front passenger side of the engine.

Very new to these cars, and i keep getting a burned smell from the car itself, any idea how bad this is? cant start it to drive it, and i'm not too sure what this hose is about.

any help is appreciated.
