Default 2001 A4 quattro - pass. front win. regulator ?

My ? relates to "window regulator wire travel/motion relative to its installed position". Can someone tell me or show me a link that explains the window regulators movements, from bottom to top and reverse, relative to the motor? Does motor reverse its operation for the up/down movements of window or does the regulator do that for motor? So, but I'm confused as to how this work.....my window was some "apart" by the time I got to removing window regulator, I cannot learn much from what in my Audi A4.....

Normally I could "match original window position or something" but in my case, both window clamps from window regulator broke so the window regulator arms existing position had no relationship to the window itself (sat at bottom of window for weeks before I attempted repairs...).

How do I insure my new window regulator, relative to the window itself and its window arms, will be in the "correct position" to move window 100% up and down.....

Why don't you take a look at the other side for reference. It should be just a mirror image of the side you are working on.
