1998 A4 quattro project

Hi, everyone, I am new at this forum..
:p

I have a 1998 A4 2.8L V6 quattro manual with about 120k on it.
I am planning turbo charge it and make it a project car. Money is NOT a big concern for me. I just Like this car and the sound of a BOV..
I know the job must be custom, I am looking for a trusted garage in New England area to get this job done.
Could anyone give some info about it?

Right now, this car is installed with Eibach shocks and lowering springs, Rotora brake rotors and pasds, Enkei rs7 rims, TOYO tires. The suspension part is almost done.

As I have done a lot of research, I could not find any turbo manifold for this V6 engine.. Any idea???

And I know this old engine would not last too long with or without a turbo sitting on it. Is there any company in New England area does the engine rebuild job???

If this whole project is a mission impossible, I would get a used RSX or new RX-8 and turbo charge it next year.. I like those two models so much I don't know why.

I know I am crazy, please don't laugh at me..
:???:

to be honsest i wouldnt do it lots of custom work and i think if i remember reading somewhere that there isnt enough room for a turbo the way the 2.8 sits in the a4 but i could be wrong. I have seen a rear turbo setup but too much lag and not worth the money for the gains. Is your a 12v or 30v? if its a 30 u can always supercharge it.

just my 2cents

Thank you for your reply, Chaos.

I have the 30v engine. It is quite easy to supercharger it, but total HP is about 260 after installation if I remember it right.
Audi cars are already nose-heavy, adding super in the front would cause over steering when turning I think... And I found some space in the intake area, the new air filter for the turbo would be placed in the right lower fog light host. Because I will install HID headlight, so I don't really need fogs.
I don't know much about turbo right now, I will learn more as I continue my project. But I think the turbo lag might be caused by the wastegate and boost control setup. ( I guess....).

And one new info about my project, a MOMO Milleninum EVO steering wheel and adaptor are coming. Cann't wait to see it in my AUDI... And I will get short shifter and MOMO shift knob...
hehehe....

Hey it is very tough to do this with the 2.8 engine and it will just be a money pit IMO. If you are planing to rebuild all of these things, I would buy a 1.8L turbo charged and replace all the existing parts into that one and sell the 2.8 as stock. The 1.8 you can easily turbo then as everything is there already and just go with a BT setup. It is much much easier and a lot less expensive and also the gains are very large and not too much lagg would be there if you were to turbo charge the 2.8 engine. One thing you should know is Audi = Expensive! and the more you tinker around with an engine that does not have parts readily available for your set-up you run into a risk of not having a car that runs anymore. That is if you start sourcing parts to setup a turbo 2.8. With the 1.8 you can easily get new turbos and parts etc after the upgrade, as they are manufactured on a higher scale, and are much more common. With that said I hope I did not discourage you from this project but you should be aware of what you are getting into!
