Gas/fuel gauge not working

Hey guys, i have a 2003 a4 b6, 1.8t quattro and just the other day my battery died. When my friend gave me a boost, i noticed that my gas gauge was not working anymore, i dont know what this issue could be, could this be due to a weak battery?? Someone please help!

You could have an issue with the fuel gauge itself, the fuel sender unit in the tank, or perhaps an ECU issue. Do your other gauges work properly? Is the fuel gauge light normally? If "no" to either of these I'd start with the gauge and go to the ECU. If "yes" to both of these, I'd start with the sender(s). The sender is a float sensor that sends a signal to indicate fuel level. Relevant example thread here:

cheers,

Yes my other gauges seem to be working properlly, the check gas light is on also. I will check the sending unit and will get back to you, thanks for the help! Really appreciate it!

If your low fuel light is on and you believe you have lots of fuel, I'll put my money on the sender, which is good news for you because it is likely the easiest thing to fix! Also, check to see if there is a fuse on the sender cct, and if so, is it blown.
