B6 - Front Fog light not working - DIY

2 Attachment(s)
So I got a message on my dash that my Left front fog light's not working. Easy enough - just change the bulb, right? Not exactly. I swapped out the bulb but it still won't light and the message is still annoying me. Time to break out the voltmeter.

Removed the fog light again and tested the circuit. Sure enough - no ground from the connector. Spent a couple of minutes chasing a 'suspect' bad ground somewhere in the circuit but then realized that there is ground on the brown wire upstream.

Now the suspect is a bad connector and though about the B.S. involved in trying to get a new connector. I decided to open up the connector to see that the ground wire had separated from the actual metal prong inside the connector housing. It was easy enough to separate the metal prong and just solder the wire back on. The trickiest part is in determining where to pry out the prong using a small precision screwdriver.

DYI in under 1/2 hour if you know what you're doing.

Good luck.
