just curious if anyone knows if the v8 runs alittle more rich than your avg engine

yeah stock tune pushes into the 14s as far as AFR goes. That's traditionally pretty rich. It's Audi being conservative. It's also **** for making power.

13.0 is optimal. That's (not surprisingly) what the JHM tune does. 'Other' tunes that shall remain nameless push the car into dangerously lean territory. Fail.

Huh? 14 is 'leaner' than 13. And it's far from ideal to have a constant AFR, i.e., 13.0:1, throughout the entire power-band.

Agreed - I'd like to hear what tunes. I don't know anything about 4.2L tunes, but usually tunes are rather conservative in their AFRs, and its their timing/VE/boost/other maps that suffer from lack of refinement. Most tuners steer well clear of stoichiometric, since they won't last long in the biz if people are grenading engines every time it's hot outside :shock:
