Questions on timing chain
In about to buy a 2005 B6 S4 and I have questions regarding the timing chain noise. I've read the "about to buy an Audi" thread but I want to know if the cold start up rattle is supposed to be noticeable, how long I would hear it, I've I have to really listen for it or not. The car I'm buying has 125,000 kms, so low kms for an 05. Thanks guys

The principle being the oil coming up to pressure for those initial seconds and is thus considered "normal". Anything longer could mean worn guides which is a costly fix.

Re: Questions on timing chain
Actually, it would seem there was a mild update in the guides between the B6 and B7 on top of everything else.
