Ok so I have a 2012 S4 so here are the questions.

First I love the change in the grill.

1) The buttons on the steering wheel look to have changed a bit. What is the new button. Couldn't read it from the photos.

2) I see the Nav is updated. Has anyone been able to upgrade their 2012 S4 to this same spec and what was the cost? Improvements??

2013 Audi models all get Google Navigation. You can't update to this.
Basically here are the changes in 2013:

- Silver buttons (4 buttons around Navi knob)
- Silver trims around all 4 power window buttons (plus trunk release button)
- Google Navigation
- Completely changed steering wheel

Outside:

- Front and rear light changes
- Front grill and fog light changes

Also note that above pics are US models.

Yeah the petals are medal. Check out Audizine, there are tons of forums on the new models. The DSG gets a new crown differential, as well as a weird "Soundakator" exhaust enhancer.

The buttons on the steering wheel all have the same functionality as the previous model S4. The button positions/configuration have just changed to to look and feel more like the 2012 Q7, A6, etc. On the left side of the steering wheel the mode button is on top. Below is the scroll wheel on the left for selecting different DIS menu options (phone, media, etc.) and a blank on the right. On the right side of the wheel the voice command button is on top. Below, the volume control scroll wheel is on the right with the navigation info button on the left.

Currently there is no way easy way of updating the navigation system. It is likely possible, but will likely be cost prohibitive. The navigation system is also still DVD based for Canada. The Audi Connect/Google Earth based navigation system is still unavailable in Canada due to network/carrier compatibility issues.

Love my S4 but want to upgrade to a new Audi, another sedan just as sporty but itching for more power. Waiting for the RS5 ;-)

The navigation system is now HD based, we just don't get the Google Earth functionality.

Sorry, you're right, the functionality works off of the HDD. It has for a few years now. I think my auto-correct replaced HDD (or some other mistakenly typed variant) with DVD. I noticed another wording mistake that unfortunately I cannot go and edit either.

New to the forum :D In case anyone cares, I ordered a fully loaded 2013 S4 about a month ago, and I didn't even know about the G maps haha. I hope I get it soon

The pricing seems to have gone down. A lot of stuff that was options on the 2012 is now standard on the 2013 premium like navigation B&O etc. The few things that remain as options are things like the sport rear differential and drive select, as well as the sun shades

I'm planning on ordering a 2013 this week. My configuration as it stands now is
Lava Grey/Black
Premium Plus
Carbon Atlas

Delivery should be sometime around the end of October. I'm coming out of an SUV now so I'm really excited/nervous.

What did you end up choosing for options?? i have the 2012 and got all the options except backup camera and the shades. camera i can have installed for half the price audi wanted to add it.

sports diff and drive select a must have option in my opinion. coming from an 07 a4 and a 2012 a4. my 2012 s4 is so much more fun to drive. takes getting used to because no lag anymore like the a4 has with the inline 4 w/ turbo. the s4 is so much quicker. great fun for "spirited drives" :D
