Will these fit? what springs?

Will these fit? what springs?
okay so, after a few beers the other night i saw some cheap wheels on tirerack and i ordered them...19 x 8.5 ... then i started thinking that 8.5 might be too wide
i called the wheel shop i went to for my winter tires and he said the 19" rs4 replicas they have for my car are also 8.5"wide... so will these fit?
also i have a strong feeling once i put these on im going to look like an idiot riding like im in a jeep, so what springs should i get to make these look good?
im only looking for springs to tie me over until next summer when i get the bilstein pss-10 set up.

Re: Will these fit? what springs?
not a lot of insight on this i suppose.
wheels are in, will just have to wait till spring to see if they fit properly.
the suspension i am now debating between is the bilstein pss10 and the tein ss
anyone have any thoughts or experiance?
*tein has adjustability from inside the vehicle

Re: Will these fit? what springs?
I can't speak for the suspension you are considering, but the wheel fitment is dependent on the offset as well as the width. The OEM 18" wheel size for the 2006 A3 was 7.5x18 ET54. As long as the wheels you bought are also a higher offset, they should fit but will extend out a little further. It could actually look a lot better since you are planning to lower the car. I am throwing H&R springs on my TTS in the spring and will probably end up buying spacers to push the wheels out a bit.

Re: Will these fit? what springs?
cool, let me know how you like those springs.
i am probably going to get the wheels put on then make my decision on suspension(a lot of it depends on how much of a drop i need)
i was also looking into spacers for the rear wheels, but that was when i was going to get 18" wheels, which were not as wide...now its probably pointless

Re: Will these fit? what springs?
All of your questions could be answered if you gave us the offset of the wheels you're buying. For springs I recommend H&R if your looking for a substantial drop and eibach if you want more of a moderate drop.

Re: Will these fit? what springs?
If they are a reputable brand of wheels the offset should be stamped on the inside of the wheel with the size.

Re: Will these fit? what springs?
they fit!
so i got my 19x8.5 et 50 rims put on and they fit perfectly, i love the size, i put 225/35/19 tires on.
now im trying to decide if the bilstein pss10 is worth the money. i could get h&r sport cups and hotchkis 27mm anti sway bars for about $1000 less than the pss10's
what do you guys think?
