US 2010 A3 and DRL for canadian inspection
I just bought a 2010 A3 in the state and failed the provincial inspection because my DRL can't be closed.
I went to the dealer and he is telling me that he needs to change my switch (which is back order).
Called another dealer and he said that it is only reprogramming but can't work on my car before next week.
Called back the other dealer and told him to contact the one that can, to learn how to do it. They say they will do it tomorrow and come back to me.
My transit is finishing tomorrow and I would like to have this details done by tomorrow. I have a feeling that Canadian dealer wants to **** off canadian that go buy their car south of the border. I am worry that he will come back with some other lame excuse to delay the work.
From what I search on this board, it seems to be only a matter of reprogramming, but I would appreciate if someone could confirm it to me as I couldn't find any reference to A3 2010 specifically, it would help me if I need to kick their *** to get the work done.
Thanks

Definitely is just a matter of reprogramming using VCDS. I helped someone else with an A3 do some recoding a little while ago and I have a copy of a sheet that someone on the net put together to help set the various A3 options.

Thanks, I would appreciate if you could send it to me. I am really getting pissed. Dealer told me today that they could do it but it required some rewirring and they didn't felt like it. Instead he proposed to take the switch from a demo and swap it. Of course the demo didn't make it in time so my car is still stuck.
Does anyone know if I can just bypass the switch somehow just to get that check on my inspection, or anyone in the Montreal Qc area that could do the job
