Default Re: Southgate Audi Edmonton

I purchased a used A4 in St. Albert and drove it to Southgate Audi for an oil change before driving back to Calgary. Before purchasing the car I scanned it with my Vag-Com and there were no issues. The oil change was complete and we drove it back home, the air conditioning stopped working! I scanned the car and a few errors came up. So I took it into Glenmore Audi and after paying their shop fees and all they found that my A/C was disconnected and that my refrigerant was too low and had to be recharged.

After calling Southgate Audi and explaining this to them they said that it was my fault and I was stuck with the bill. After escalating it further and stating that I live in Calgary and this is what the dealer found right after me returning from my trip, when the vehicle went in to Southgate and the A/C was working and now its broken. Southgate told me to bring it back to Edmonton and they would "look at it" I asked if this would fix the problem they said they don’t know until they see it and maybe they will fix it at a discounted rate.

At this point I decided to cut my losses and pay the $400 bill in Calgary and get it done right.

Fast forward to a few months ago I was looking at buying an S4, I shopped around and was in Edmonton on business and decided to stop in and take a look at an S4 they had. I am a younger guy who just turned 30 and it was very difficult to even get a sales person to talk to me. I had them paged 2 times meanwhile they were standing around and chatting it up. I walked outside and looked at the car and asked the receptionist if I could take a vehicle for a test drive. The salesman made his way over finally and asked what car I was interested in buying, once I stated the S4 he asked if I knew how much that car was? If I wanted to take it for a test drive I had put down a deposit of $2000, I asked if this was standard practice and that I have gone to a few dealers and that this was only a thing they asked me about at Southgate. He said it was normal and if I crashed the car they have a deductible deposit, thinking that I would back down of the deal. So I put the money down and went for a test drive and it was the most awkward test drive I have done. They insisted that they come with me and that I was not allowed to hit the gas. So I was left there with this awesome car and a guy that would warn me anytime I took a corner faster than the recommended speed. I was mad and felt like it was the worst service ever. I went back and cut the test drive short and just got my deposit back and walked away. The salesman insisted I take his card, I kindly declined then he stapled it to my "deposit" receipt. I took it off and ripped it in front of him and walked out.

I am now a happy owner of an S4 purchased at Glenmore Audi and my plan is to not ever go back to these idiots.
