Re: How many ft lbs to torque lugbolts?
All in all it cost me about $1500 for 17" rims and michelin x ice xi2.
I'll post pics when I get them put on. They're in my storage totes right now and I'm too lazy to get them out for a photo

Re: How many ft lbs to torque lugbolts?
in my RS4 manual it says 90 ft lbs. Interesting. Wonder why the extra 1 ft lb?
When I took one of my wheels off the other day to check if my VMR708 wheels would fit as winters, I found that whoever last put the wheels on torqued them to about 40,000 ft lbs. Brutal.
p.s. no they didn't fit (VMR708 ET38 18x8.5 are just too small in the barrel to fit over the calipers, let alone the fact that the offset isn't aggressive enough.

Re: How many ft lbs to torque lugbolts?
A3 manual clearly says it is 90 lb.
Place in Brampton advertizes 17" Audi replicas with Michelin X-ice 2 for $1299 (Kijiji Ad #314147850). I have e-mailed them to confirm. Looks like a good price.

Re: How many ft lbs to torque lugbolts?
I have used oem bolts on steel rims for other car in the past but not sure it is the same for Audi.
On one of the tire/wheel sale sites it was noted that original bolts would not work on after market alloy rims and extra bolt set would be needed

Re: How many ft lbs to torque lugbolts?
Most wheels are either conical seat or ball seat (but other types do exist), with OEM wheels generally being ball seat, and aftermarket wheels generally being cone seat. Know the difference and use the proper bolts! And don't think for a second that some wheel shops won't use the improper bolts - verify it for yourself.

Re: How many ft lbs to torque lugbolts?
I had the Manual tell me 90 ft/pound. however. I used a torque wrench to remove every lugbolt and the test resulted in 106 Ft/Pound in all 20 lugbolts. I believe that at the factory they may have used 100 Ft/p of torque and the end result is a bit more wile removing it.
No anti seize had been used by the Audi assembly guy.
I live in Canada and the cold, snow, salt ETC... don't really help on lubolt removal.
so I always use a litle bit of Copper coat lube on the threads ( not on the contact ball/bevel area of the bolt.
Remember guys. It does not hurt to use a bit of grease or DOPE/Nycle/Coppercoat or any anti seize on bolts just so as long as you re-check the torque once in a wile.
No proof of bad result has been ever reported other than the oposite!
Lugbolts that get gripped and snap wile atempting to remove.
They rust! made of grade 8 carbon steel on all AUDI cars and vw's.
Bottom line.
90 F/P by manufactory manual.
100 F/P By assembly line guys + 5/6 % on my 2013 S4.
I instaled the new wheels and tires that i got from Tirerack and the car drives great.
Tire size 245-40-18 Blizzak ws 70. nice so far.
have a nice one .
