Wow, I really have to share this. I've been driving my new to me 2006 A3 for just over 5 year now and always wondered if I should get it tuned. I loved this car and was sad about the hatchback A3 disappearing from Audi lineup for a while. So I started looking for a used 2009-10 A3. That's when I saw a brand new 2013 black titanium A3 manual (hardest choice : manual or quattro... I do hate compromises) S-Line with sport suspension and leather heated sport seats in the dealer's lot with a killer price on it. Actually paid 32k$ since this particular car was missing the open sky and xenon lights, this is actually options that you find in every canadian A3 for 2013 but they had 4 misfits with one having the Titanium S-Line option. She had to be mine so I couldn't resist to put my name on "La Noire" as I now call her.

So remember I always wondered about going more aggressive with a chip. I decided to check it out, did some research and APR came as a nice choice plus had a mechanic shop doing the install next to my work and was having their spring sale (get all 4 programs for the regular 599$ price). A week later La Noire is now a lot more that she was with a stock, 91 octane, 93 octane and a very boring valet mode (can't even go over 70km/h ).

The difference is astounding when you ask for power while really keeping it unnoticed as you normally drive around. The front wheel drive can't keep up with the new power and the tires (18in) screams at 70km/h in 2nd gear when you floor it... Now with 4 500km on it I really look forward to a full summer with it.


I'll keep you posted in term of durability as I always keep my rides for a while and do a lot of km but this 2.0T is a fantastic!

how do you change between the octane settings and valet mode? I bought an 08 a3 and its supposedly running 2+ right now, I can see i have all the parts to fit the tune I just have no clue how to change between settings.. someone was saying somehting about messing with the cruise control lever but i forgot all about that now, if you could help me out it would be greatly appreciated
