Anyone find someone in Toronto that they can trust to do the Vag-Com programming and do all the cars that have shark fin's have the GPS wire hidden behind the Sub like a poster said before?

Mine did, yes.

Anyone buy the extension cable lately for the GPS? I haven't been able to find it online....I feel that after some extensive research I should be able to do the DIY myself.

However, I was reading on one site that if my GPS unit is coded for an A3 - I shouldn't have to do any serious Vag-Com programming other than letting the car know I have it....

Anyone here about to go through the process of doing the upgrade in the GTA? Maybe we can work together on it.

I found this on eBay, but it is way over-priced. It shouldn't cost more than $10.

It's a pretty easy mod, except for running the wire from the sharkfin to the RNS-E. That's a bit of a pain in the butt, but it's too bad.

Yeah, I didn't have to use re-program anything. It was just plug and play.

Did the conversion last night with the help of a board member here (nonopeno)....it was super easy.

right now I installed the antenna inside the dash - behind the unit. I am generally getting 8 satellites, when I do a check. Everything else is running perfect.

Looking for the 2013 Maps DVD - so I can find my house on it, lol! My development wasn't around in 2011.

PM me if you have one willing to sell.

Hello!

I am a member of a couple of forums in the US, such as Audizine, Fourtitude, and Eurotopia. I just registered to this forum for two reasons: First, to respond to this thread, and second because I have many friends in Canada!

I discovered this thread during my search for this information on the RNS-E Upgrade. Please excuse me for resurrecting an old thread; I do understand what a pain this can be at times on forums. This thread is one of the top search results on Google and I am hoping that some of the posters or the original author might chime in with an answer to my queries.

Foremost I am curious about the Diagnostics via K-Line. In my wiring harness which I got with the unit there is an extra wire, blue in color I believe, and it has a label on it "K-Line". I have no idea where this plugs in; also, after reading this thread in it's entirety I could not find the answer.

Sorry for bumping old thread but I have some problems with retrofitting.

I have problems with this step:
Code:
STG 17 (Instrument cluster) -> Adaptation -> Function 10 -> Channel 62

Channel 62
+04 - Navigation
+23. Bluetooth
I can't get in channel 62, VCDS says: channel not available - how can I solve this?

The problem happens in EU 2009 TDI A3.

No worries, this is something used in older models, and not used for my variant at all.

You know, when I was going through the VagCom for my installation there were a few parts that I had to skip, and if I recall one of them might be the Bluetooth section. If you already had Bluetooth I don't think the coding is much different. Are you adding it, or was it already existing? I am having some trouble with my own as well; the Bluetooth shows up but I am unable to add my phone to it since I retrofitted. I will let you know what I find out after I can work on the coding again.

The problem is not with bluetooth but with the navigation, DIS doesnt show navigation instructions/arrows.

So did you fix this? I have the same problem with an A3 2010 (MY11); can't access channel 62 in the instrument cluster...
