So this past weekend I finally had the time to retrofit a 2010 RNSE into my 2006 Audi A3 2.0T with Concert 2. All in all, installation was long, but fairly straight forward. Along with the 2010 RNSE, I also purchased a double din cage, new buttons, and some new harnesses from Kufatec. Here are some pics:













Install went well and everything seems to be working perfectly. My only main concern now is making changes to vagcom. I plugged in my cable and after running a scan, I'm getting multiple errors pertaining to the RNSE.

I was able to check on Byte 03, bit 7 in "19- CAN gateway". I was also able to do the same for "Select 37 - Navigation", and I changed that code to 0205617. When I try to change "Select 16 - Steering Wheel" to the new coding 04022, it doesn't work.

When I applied all these changes and re-scanned I got 4 faults for "Address 37: Navigation". The first one is the Radio ZF output to Antenna Amplifieer, which I know is a normal error, but I also get the following 3 errors:

00857 - CD Changer Unit (R41) *I don't have one installed??

01303 - Telephone Transceiver (R36) *I don't have one installed??

01044 - Control Module Incorrectly Coded *Don't know what this is

Other than these errors, the RNSE seems to work fine. I also noticed that even after I turn the car off and the key is in my hand and I lock the car, I can still turn the radio on. Is this normal?

FYI, I don't have a BT module installed at the moment either....

A control and/or radio module incorrectly coded are often there when you install aftermarket harnesses. Both of my cars (A4 and Jetta) have this from when I installed Dension bt modules. As far as I can tell they are of no consequence. Not sure about the others but it could be that the coding for the rnse assumes you would also have a changer and tele receiver?

Yea, your right, I changed the code for my nav using vagcom and re-scanned... fixed everything... The only error I have to live with is the "Radio ZF output to Antenna Amplifier" error, which is because I'm using aftermarket harnesses.

I still haven't added BT, but will in the future.
