S line package worth it? 2012 A3
Hi
New guy just saying hi. I used to drive a mk5 GTI which is very similar to A3. I loved it so much but it's time to move on. I decided to get an A3 which is my dream car (for now). Love the euro hatchback styling. I am planning to order a 2012 A3 with progressive package. progressive package includes 17" Alloy wheels (5-double spoke design) Bluetooth Multi-function 3-spoke steering wheel Power driver seat w/lumbar auto dimming int mirror Rain sensor Storage package Interior lightning package Brushed aluminum trim Open sky Bi-xenon headlights Sport suspension S line exterior Apparently, Audi changed their package option so that this package includes basically all the luxurious gimmicks for a chaper price. I was thinking I wanted sport bucket seats like I used to have on my GTI. but since progressive package includes some stuff from sline package, i thought getting sline package just for the seats is not worth it. What do you guys think? Plus, what do I have to look for when buying a new A3? powertrain is similar to GTI so I am familiar with that but I want advice from people who have been driving A3 for years. The first batch of 2012 is expected to arrive in Canada at the end of august. Thanks in advance. |
Re: S line package worth it? 2012 A3
Just an FYI, the 2012 A3's have already arrived in Canada. I visited my local Audi dealer last Tuesday (July 5) and was shown 3 or 4 in the dealer's compound that had just arrived. He only had FWD and TDI versions and I was looking for quattro so we went inside and did some dealing. I bought a meteor grey 2012 Audi A3 2.0T Progressiv S Line quattro S Tronic with basically everything you listed. I wasn't shown much in the way of options - the only ones shown on the printout the dealer showed me were metallic paint, a black styling package, SIRIUS satellite radio and sport seats (a $500 option). S Line wasn't an option (the S Line "exterior" is standard with this vehicle).
Anyway, a vehicle was located on a ship leaving Euroope and I found out yesterday that it is now in Halifax and should be delivered in 10-14 days. FYI, the dealer is Audi of Oakville. |

Re: S line package worth it? 2012 A3
Hi everyone, I'm new on the forum.
I just bought a 2012 A3, black, 6 speeds manual and the S-line package. My dealer (in Montreal) told me that the S-line package will not be offered any longer because of the 18'' rotor wheel that are now discontinued. This is why the S-line package (2700$) is now changed by two distinct packages (think it's 1300$ and 600$). I should have it around mid-August and it was one of the last with the full S-line package |
Re: S line package worth it? 2012 A3
One additional comment on the first post : the Sport suspension and S line exterior are not included in the base Progressiv model.

Re: S line package worth it? 2012 A3
Hey guys.
I just put a deposit down on 2012 A3 yesterday. Yes, all you guys' comments were true, I had been misleaded by a sales person. So I went to a different dealer and bought 2012 A3 Ibis White 6speed manual progressiv satelite radio s-line titanium package. and yes like your car a3newbie, mine is also the last line of full s-line package. and i think my car is on the same boat as yours. ETA is mid august but since i'm in BC, i can pick it up at the end of august. good thing we wanted different colours, otherwise we would have been fighting for the same car lol YAY! |
Re: S line package worth it? 2012 A3
Yes exactly, they are on the same boat. I had the choice between a black, 2 whites and a meteor gray, all equipped the same way. Good thing we had the last S-line's, the ''rotor'' wheels are awesome!! :)
I'm wondering if the Sirius radio is different from the ''base'' radio, appart from the satelite functionnality. |
