Problems with Bose CD player for 2005 A3
 

Hi

I am new at this so bear with me !

I have a Audi A3 2005 2.0 TDI with the Bose sound system. I have not had this from new sadly -but just over 18 mnths -the best 18 months so far! .

There seems to be a problem with the cd player - there isnt a CD in the machine ( front loading ) but it crunches when turned on and then reads CD 5 error 3 i cannot load or eject anything that is in there.

Dose any one no what this means or is there a way i can fix it ? I could take it to the local Audi garage but if there is a way around it i would like to know. The radio still works and the tape its just the CD drive that im having a problem with.

I have seen on E-bay that you can get "keys" to take the whole unit out but not keen on doing this as i wouldnt want to couse my self any more expense.

Please help me !!!

Hi Steph!
Do you have a radio Code? Its the code you enter after the battery or radio has been removed! If you do have it, you can try resetting your radio by pulling out the fuse from the fuse box and see if this fixes the problem. Usually an Error three is a major malfunction, when i had it the entire radio had to be replaced, lucky for me it was under warranty!
