Odd "metal knock" noise while in gear and slowing down
In addition to that engine sound that everyone is posting about in the other thread. Since yesterday I've been hearing this odd sound when I'm in gear (let's take 2nd for instance) and I'm accelerating but then I take my foot off the accelerator but I DO NOT press down on the clutch. When the car starts slowing down (from engine braking) it sounds like a metal pin gets hit everytime. I hope I'm explaining this correctly. Is anyone with an A3 Front Track 6-SP manual transmission experiencing this? I currently have 17000 KMS on the car.
So just to recap; I accelerate in gear, I take my foot off the accelerator and leave the car in gear. The moment I take my foot off the accelerator there's a one-time "CLINCK" sound that happens everytime I do this. I started noticing it yesterday while I was in 5PM traffic on my way home. Any insight would be appreciated! Davis |

I guess its isolated to my car... taking my car in on Monday to get it checked.

Got my answer! It was the valve that regulates the turbo's waste gate. Got it replaced and it's all good now.
