New to Audi A3 2016 Question
 

Hi guys,

I just bought my new A3 and I am really excited about it(Btw, it is also my first audi car). Forgive me If I ask something stupid. I just wanted to know that since the car is new, do I have to keep in mind during the break in such as don't rev the engine too high, don't brake too hard or accelerate too quick with full throttle, etc...?

Another sad thing:( is that I accidentally scratch my rim on the curb but it seem not really obvious to notice (because it is on the edge of my rim). So I wonder if I gonna get it repair, how much it will cost? any recommendation?

My sales guy said no need to worry about break in, but the owners manual for my S3 said to keep the revs under 2/3 of max during break in period (first 1500KM) so although I drove it quickly, I always shifted below 4500 rpms and kept it under 160km/ hour when showing off to friends. I did this for the first 2000 KM as I am cautious by nature. For braking, I took it easy, no hard stops but I wouldn't worry too much, some people say you can glaze the pads if you only brake lightly all the time. Congrats on the new car.

Thank you bro for your reply, and also Congrats on your new vehicle too:) . I would also think the same way as to not revs the engine too much or drive on really high engine speed during the first 1500km. Once again thank you.
BTW, do you know the feature "Reverse Mirror Tilt" on the Audi A3? I saw this feature on American one, don't know if it on the Canadian one as well or not, try it but it didn't work.

Re the curb view mirror, my dealer said not available in Canada when I asked. The motors required to do the curb view tilt or to fold both mirrors in when parked are not installed. I think he said it was how the different options are configured between the two versions (US and Canada). What's weird is that it is mentioned in my owner's manual as a feature on some models.

The other strange difference is on the US Model, most of the owners manual is stored in the MMI and you can view on the display, even with videos! Why didn't they put this on the Canadian Models! My dealer said again because of minor differences, the biggest one being that in Canada most warnings and indicators have to be symbols, whereas in the US they use words so they didn't produce a multimedia owner's manual for the smaller Canadian market.
