Default Multiple-function control help...

Hey all,

I have a 2011 A3 with the regular stereo/Bose audio system. The "Mode" button on the steering wheel does not seem to be setup or does not work. I would have expected to be able to switch between FM radio, satellite, CD, etc. by pressing this button is that correct?

Also the thumb wheel to the left of the "Mode" button does not scroll through my presets. In satellite mode it scrolls through categories... Very annoying and the owners manual is vague on the setup.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Andy

I'm assuming the car's brand new. If so, I'd take it to a dealership and have them reprogram the steering wheel. Or find someone with a VAG-COM and see what the scanner says.

Hey Mona,

Yes, the car is brand new. I'll try the dealership route first and see what they find. Am I correct that the Mode button should scroll through the stereo functions?

Cheers,

Andy

Don't know for the A3, but the Mode button on my A4 works to connect with the Bluetooth functions on my phone. Once the connection with the phone is established, the scroll wheel moves you through your contact list and pressing initiates the call.

Never seen it do anything on the stereo/radio side; with an RNS-E Nav there might be other functions but I don't have Nav so...

Thanks for the tip. I think it seems to be the case that it has more to do with cell phone functions. Kind of lame in my opinion.
