Front license plate on A3 2009

Hi everybody!

I bought a black A3 from Ontario yesterday and I want to know if it's possible to remove the black square holding the license plate on the front bumper...

We don't need this here (Montreal). I asked my dealer but the response is ... maybe!!!

Anything new on this one?

Picking up a new A4 this week and want to lose that front license plate mount.
Anyone know how readily this thing comes off?
